| Samsung has changed the Firmware available for download from their website on ML1640 and ML2240 in November to stop customers from being able to use these new reset chips. Although it still calls the Firmware Level xxxxxxx.83, the actual Firmware that you receive on your computer is xxxxxxx.93 and this seems to be designed to prevent the use of our compatible chip. We therefore strongly recommend that customers continue to use the software which comes with the printer and that you do not download the lastest Firmware from the Samsung site as you'll then be able to use these chips without any problem. Alternatively please email us if you need the correct xxxxxxx.83 Firmware that was originally available. Following this unfair practice by Samsung our advice would be that the customer should take steps to STOP any updates from Samsung reaching the customers' computer/printer - there is likely to be further action by the OEM to prevent the remanufacturing of the ML1640/2240 cartridges using our chip. Samsung will want to do this across ALL their newer engines. |
